Peppol e-invoicing

Peppol-Ready Software for Irish Businesses

Peppol is the EU standard for exchanging structured e-invoices between businesses and public bodies. It is mandatory for selling to most Irish public bodies today, and Belgium, Germany, France, and Poland have already legislated B2B mandates rolling out across Europe. Revenue is consulting on a phased Irish rollout with the first deadline in November 2028. The list below covers verified Irish vendors flagged Peppol-ready on first-party evidence only.

How we verify

First-party evidence only

A weekly cron pulls the OpenPeppol Directory and matches its Service Provider register against the Vendors.ie dataset. We only flag a vendor as Peppol-ready when the matcher finds first-party evidence on the vendor's own domain - typically a product page, knowledge base article, or compliance statement that names Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 and the document types supported. We do not infer readiness from third-party member lists, marketing claims, or feature comparison sites. Absence from this list means the matcher has not captured first-party evidence yet, never that the vendor "does not support Peppol". Coverage grows each week as new evidence is confirmed.

What buyers actually ask

Peppol-ready software - frequently asked questions

What is Peppol?
Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) is the EU-wide network and document standard for exchanging electronic invoices, credit notes, orders, and despatch advices. A Peppol invoice is a structured UBL XML document that conforms to the Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 specification, aligned with the EN 16931 European e-invoicing standard. Buyers and suppliers exchange these documents through Peppol Access Points, which authenticate, route, and deliver the invoices on the network.
Is Peppol mandatory in Ireland?
For business-to-government (B2G) transactions, yes. The Office of Government Procurement, the HSE, and most Irish public bodies accept Peppol e-invoices today, and many require them. For business-to-business (B2B) transactions, Peppol is not yet mandatory in Ireland, but Revenue announced a phased rollout in October 2025 with Phase 1 due 1 November 2028 for large corporates and every Irish business required to be able to receive structured e-invoices from that date. Belgium, Germany, France, and Poland have already legislated B2B e-invoicing mandates, and the EU ViDA package sets a hard cross-border deadline of 1 July 2030.
Why does this list look short?
We only flag a vendor as Peppol-ready when our weekly matcher finds first-party evidence on the vendor's own domain. We do not infer Peppol support from third-party Peppol-org member lists, marketing claims, or feature comparison pages. Many established Irish business software products are likely Peppol-ready or about to be. Absence from this list means unverified, never "does not support". The matcher runs weekly and the page is data-driven, so the list grows as evidence is captured.
How do I find out if my software supports Peppol?
Check your vendor's own e-invoicing documentation, not third-party member directories. The Peppol Directory at directory.peppol.eu lists registered participants (your customers and suppliers), but it does not directly confirm software vendor support. Look for an explicit Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 statement on the vendor's product page or knowledge base, with details on whether the vendor operates an Access Point natively or routes through a partner. Vendor claims of "supports UBL" or "supports EN 16931" alone are not the same as Peppol-ready, since the standard alone does not put the document on the network.
What is the difference between this list and the Peppol Lookup tool?
This page lists software vendors with confirmed Peppol-ready products. The Peppol Lookup Ireland tool searches the official OpenPeppol Directory for Irish businesses (your customers and suppliers) registered to receive Peppol documents. The two are complementary: this page tells you which software to buy, the Lookup tool tells you which Irish counterparties you can already invoice over Peppol.
