What this scheme funds
Skillnet Ireland funds and facilitates more than 70 sector- and regional-focused learning networks, each run by an industry body or representative group. Member businesses access subsidised training in areas including digital transformation, AI, leadership, cybersecurity, sales, and ESG. Typical course subsidies bring the cost down to 30-50% of the commercial rate. Larger Skillnet programmes (e.g. Climate Ready, AI for Business, MentorsWork) are funded specifically for the SME audience and are often free at the point of use. Skillnet is one of the most underused supports by SMEs and is particularly relevant when introducing a new software platform that requires the team to upskill.
